Hau Giang, Westminster, CA

I’ve eaten here a few times and have not been able to review it because according to Yelp, it never even existed! Until now.

I came here for the first time last month and second time last night. One of the best bun bo Hue I’ve ever had (best is homemade by my aunt :)). The bowl is big with a good amount of meat – beef and pork on bone – with frozen blood (not my faves, though.) Bun bo hue and mi quang usually go together because they’re both originated from central Vietnam, so I had to try the mi quang. Also delicious. Got the banh beo (rice cakes with shrimp and green onions) for appetizers just to see how they make it here. It was OK. The green onions weren’t cooked, otherwise it would’ve been better. Rice cakes are better at Quan Hy.

Here come the pictures!

They are known for their bun bo hue, Vietnamese Hue rice noodle soup (from central Vietnam). Soup is usually red (if it's not, it wasn't cooked right) and spicy. Tons of beef slices, pork on bone, frozen blood (not my fave), green onions, red onions. Makes my mouth water just writing about it!

Mi quang, another type of egg noodle soup, but less soup than most other noodle soups you've had, with pork sausages, pork, peanuts, crispy rice cakes, and veggies.

Rice cakes are OK here. The edges were a bit dry, and green onions were not cooked. Shrimp is a little too red so I'm going to just say they probably added coloring to it. Bottom line: only come here for bun bo hue and mi quang.
